Ipswich Art Gallery

Visit Construction Site Summer Fun at the Ipswich Art Gallery this summer for an awesome, hands-on, immersive experience the whole family can enjoy.

From 2 December, the entire Gallery will become an innovative, family-oriented, creative play space offering multiple engaging activities.

With Construction Site Building Blocks kids can be their own architect and build their dream cubby house. Using giant foam blocks everyone can build whatever they can imagine: construct a castle, an igloo or a super sky-scraper. Get Mum and Dad to join in to build a whole city.

The fun continues in the amazing TapeScape created by US artist Eric Lennartson. Immerse yourself in this unique, tri-level, multi-sensory play space made from over 115km of clear packing tape. Explore the tunnels and slides in this latest and largest TapeScape – an Australian exclusive only at the Ipswich Art Gallery.

There’s also Blue Blocks where kids can build on a smaller scale to create their own invention. Then they can unleash their inner engineer to create their own Ball Run using tubes and recycled materials to send a rolling ball on its way. See who can make the best, longest or most gravity-defying ball run ever!
