Big Roddy's Rippin' Rib Shack

South Brisbane

Big Roddy's Rippin' Rib Shack is a mod American style diner serving up prime-cut ribs in South Brisbane’s hottest dining precinct, Fish Lane.

As well as the finger lickin' good ribs (made to Roddy's secret recipe), on the menu are spicy wings, jam-packed burgers, jala-macca-peno poppers and much more.

The diner inspired interior is laden with red leather booths, bar seating and a few tables, while the walls are decorated with photographs of Big Roddy and the team as well as Big Roddy merchandise and light up signage.

The long list of mouth-watering dishes made with fresh and local produce. (Produce is delivered fresh each day, as Big Roddy doesn’t even use his freezer).

Aside from Big Roddy’s signature ribs;  the St. Louis Pork Ribs sourced from Bevin and Merilyn Schultz’s farm located in South East Queensland, and the Beef Short Ribs sourced from Cape Grim in Tasmania. The ribs can be coated in one of many of Big Roddy’s special sauces; the Big Roddy’s Max Power BBQ Sauce is highly recommended if you like a chilli kick! The ribs come with Big Roddy’s plastic bib, which explains just how messy you can get.

Alternatively, there are a range of burgers including the Ribwich, which is a burger filled with your choice of Big Roddy’s slow cooked meat, coleslaw and pickles, while other classic American style dishes include poutine fries and mac and cheese filled jalapeno poppers. Be sure to order a side of sweet potato fries with your meal and ensure to ask for their delicious hot rod seasoning.

There are a range of tap beers on offer including Big Roddy’s Champion Lager, bottled beers, wine and even cocktail jugs. There are also soft drinks and juices available.

Need to know – Limited street parking is available.

Nice to know – Big Roddy’s popuilar Max Power BBQ Sauce is made with Bid Roddy’s very own, home-grown, Trinidad scorpion chillis.
