Woolcock Park

Red Hill

A peaceful family friendly park nestled in a green hollow on the Ithaca Creek bike route, Woolcock Park is especially suited to those with small children and not just because there are no nearby traffic temptations.

Woolcock Park Red Hill

Following a sensory theme (due to the Special Needs school nearby) it offers unusual features that young ones love such as vibrating mushrooms, water play, an interactive sound machine and padded whirly wheel as well as a Liberty Swing.

Added extras are the beginner-suited bike tracks that weave a circuit between the barbecue sites and the water dragons that sun themselves in the mushroom zone, while after rain duck families and turtles often make their presence known down by the creek outlet.

Adults are catered for with free tai chi on Sunday mornings, a reflexology path which traverses the area and decent shaded barbecue and picnic facilities and parents will rejoice at the handy modern amenities block.

Good to know - Woolcock Park is the start of a fantastic mostly off-road family-friendly bike and walking trail that follows Ithaca and Enoggera Creeks to Newmarket and Ashgrove.

Need to know - There is on-street parking along Hawthorn Tce and Kenwyn Rd.
