Mecca Bah Emporium

MECCA BAH HAS MOVED FROM THE EMPORIUM TO NEWSTEAD.

Mecca Bah is Middle Eastern and Moroccan dining at its best, set in a cool exotic oasis in the midst of modern day kasbah the Emporium, Fortitude Valley.

While other restaurants and shops have come and gone Mecca Bah - one of the Emporium’s original inhabitants - has remained, having established itself as a lunch and dinner hotspot.

Mecca Bah Emporium

The extensive chef-curated menu mixes the best of local fresh ingredients with ancient recipes and cooking techniques.

Popular dishes include mezze plates to share, classic dishes - boureks, shish kebab and tajines - with a contemporary twist, and pizzas with toppings such as grilled haloumi, spiced chicken and spit roast lamb.

Some recommended Mezze plates include hommus topped with spiced lamb, pine nuts and herbs and served with fresh-baked Lebanese Za’atar bread, baked haloumi with pomegranate, mint salad and lemon and sweet potato falafels with tahini sauce.

Tagines have long been popular here for good reason – try the seafood (barramundi, mussels and local prawns with harisssa and tomato) or lamb meatballs with egg and spicy tomato sauce.
Meanwhile grills include slow braised short beef ribs with harissa pomegranate glaze or garlic chicken kebab with Mjadarrah and tabouleh.

Mecca Bah Emporium

For a sweet finish to the meal, there’s Mecca Bah ice-creams with flavours of Middle Eastern halva, rich chocolate or cinnamon and honey and desserts like Turkish Delight and chocolate brownie,  orange blossom cheesecake or delcicate Middle eastern pastries, the perfect accompaniment to Turkish coffee.

As well as a great place for lunch or dinner, cocktail hour is well spent here with a delicious serve of mezze and house sgnature cocktail such as a Turkish Delight martini, Moroccan Collins or a Marrakesh Kiss.

There's also a range of classic cocktails, boutique wines and beers. And for non-drinkers there are delcious mocktails like the Tangier Treat, Pink Fez and Iced Apple and Cinnamon Turkish tea.

Nice to know: At Mecca Bah food is about sharing and the ultimate way to make the most of it is with a great value banquet (min. 4 people). Some free off-street parking is available for patrons of the Emporium.

Need to know: Mecca Bah has a special dietary menu with gluten free, vegan, dairy free, nut free, no chilli/garlic and vegetarian options. There are also great Lunch Specials for $20 or less from Monday-Friday.
