Another stalwart of McWhirter’s mini-Asia arcade, Maha Latchmi’s drawcards are the delicious cheap Vegetarian daily curries that are churned out from the bain maries at the counter and its sizable array of sweets from all regions of India.

At any time of day Indian diners can be found at the tables enjoying the authentic fare which comes in serving sizes of small ($6.50), medium ($8.50) and large ($10.50), including rice.

Sweets can be bought individually for around $1-$2 or by the box full and include the popular gulab jamun (dough balls in rosewater scented sugar syrup), gujiya (sweet nut turnovers) and milk cakes along with regional specialties.
