Grape Therapy

Fortitude Valley

GRAPE THERAPY HAS ADDED A GIN BAR AND CHANGED NAMES TO PROUD HENRY WINE BAR & GINOTECA (WITH THE SAME OWNER).

Grape Therapy is a gorgeously ambient Fortitude Valley wine bar, steeped in vintage charm and a world away from gritty bustling Wickham Street outside.

Sibling to Brisbane CBD’s Grape Therapy and Wine Merchants, the Valley’s Grape Therapy occupies a high-ceilinged 1920s building, presided over by a giant taxidermy peacock (Henry) and featuring an intimate candlelit courtyard, lamplit nooks, chandeliers salvaged from iconic 1980s Brisbane restaurant Michael’s and separate dining room with exposed handmade brick walls and ceiling to floor bookshelves.

The bar is a wine-lover’s paradise, with wine merchant Darren Davis behind the massive curated selection which includes some of Australia’s iconic wines and many small producer’s wines, is available by the glass (from $10 standard -$12/15 signature), or retail by the bottle.

As well as wine, there are ciders on offer (Samuel Smith Organic Apple, Franks Apple or pear or Kelly Brothers Sparkling Apple) and a smattering of classic Wine Cocktails: Italian Spritz, Peach Bellini, Kir Royal, Mimosa, Red Hot Summer (red wine, lemon, lime and soda) or The Summer Cup (sparkling wine, ginger beer, lemonade, cranberry and fresh fruit).

To accompany, Wine Therapy offers Farmhouse Cheese and Artisan Cold Meats from a carefully selected menu that changes weekly. Cheese boards are served with luxury crackers, crusty bread from a local bakery, condiments and quince paste and cheese (think offerings like Black Truffle Pecorino from Black Pearl) comes as one selection or a mix of 3.

Charcuterie boards, meanwhile comprise a small or large selection of cold cuts along with Dijon mustard, peppered fig paste, a mix of condiments, crusty bread and luxury crackers. Also on the menu are a Mixed Board of 2 cheeses and Cold Cuts.
