Night of the Nerds, Brisbane’s delightfully dorky variety game show, is back at the World Science Festival Brisbane for one-night-only, on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at QPAC.

Comedian Mark Humphries, known for War on 2023, SBS’s The Feed and ABC’s 7:30, will venture into uncharted hosting territory as two exceptional teams of scientists, tech enthusiasts, and humorists engage in a series of challenges to guide their respective teams toward the ultimate triumph in the world of nerdiness.

Challenging their expertise will be ABC News Breakfast weather presenter Nate Byrne, Astrophysicist Kirsten Banks, writer and comedian Craig Reucassel from The War on Waste, Professor Paul Young from The University of Queensland, science communicator Dr. Naomi Koh Belic, and more.

Overseeing the proceedings with a keen eye will be fact-checker and ABC super nerd, Tegan Taylor. If anyone is going to play fast and loose with the truth, it better be amusing. And let's not overlook the house superband, injecting a dose of glamour into the event. Led by the always-entertaining Patience Hodgson (The Grates), the stellar lineup includes George Browning, Velociraptor, Babaganouj, Jen Boyce, Ball Park Music, Paul Furness, and Simi Lacroix.

Always a World Science Festival Brisbane highlight, Night of the Nerds is a very, very nerdy night of warp-speed chaos -  and remember, the geek shall inherit the earth!
