Behind Closed Doors

Playhouse Qpac

Queensland’s premiere dance company, Expressions, is presenting its stunning new show, Behind Closed Doors, at the Playhouse, QPAC from 19 – 27 May.

The work hails from award-winning choreographer, Natalie Weir, and draws the audience in to a hotel where the private lives of its late-night guests and staff are exposed. It will feature Expressions Dance Company’s renowned beautiful and athletic contemporary dance moves from its talented performers, as well as seductive modern jazz performed live by Queensland’s Trichotomy. There’ll also be special guests, acclaimed Brisbane-based vocalist, Kristin Berardi, and saxophonist, Rafael Karlen.

Audiences are invited to unleash their inner voyeur with this glimpse through the keyhole, with Natalie Weir saying, “Behind Closed Doors explores the playfulness and fragility of human nature. It has moments of joy and moments of sadness and everything in between.”

Weir is particularly pleased to have the talents of Trichotomy on board – Sean Foran on piano, John Parker on drums, and Samuel Vincent on Acoustic Bass. Along with Berardi and Karlen, the live music will add an exciting and evocative element to this must-see dance work.
