If you love to tuck into top quality barbecued meat and wash it down with refreshing craft beer, the BBQ & Beer Roadshow at Doomben Racecourse is a must-do.

The inaugural Roadshow is the brainchild of Julian D’Souza, who’s been behind events like the Stones Corner Festival and the World Food Markets. After two years in the making, the Roadshow will feature BBQ Championships, food trucks, live music, masterclasses and more. There’ll be about 20 different bars featuring Australia’s (and the world’s) top boutique beers from established and fledgling breweries.

Says D’Souza, “Visitors can see the latest low and slow cooking techniques utilised by the best crews in Australia, and they can enjoy a broad selection of delicious meats and other foods from our vendors.”

The BBQ competitions have crews coming from all over the country to compete for a prize pool of $15,000. You can watch them cook it out right in front of you as they tease you with their smoke and sauce creations. Then perhaps go to a masterclass to learn from the ‘High Nerds of the BBQ & Beer World’.
