Newstead

Nonda is a striking industrial chic Pan Asian eatery and bar, serving refined contemporary Eastern Asian cuisine from its home in Newstead's Gasworks Plaza.

Nonda Newstead

From the owners of Uncle Don, a popular Rosalie restaurant renowned for its traditional don dishes, Nonda is a thoroughly modern and more upmarket affair, serving creative Japanese, Korean and Chinese-inspired dishes.

The high-ceilinged designer space features an open kitchen, back lit sake & wine wall and artwork to the rear, green leather banquettes along one wall, Bentwood-style bar stools and dining chairs, with communal and group tables in the centre and a handful of stools at the kitchen and bar counters.

All of the dishes at Nonda are designed to share, starting with smaller plates like clam croquette with shaoxing wine, bechamel and pecorino; zucchni tempura, black miso jam & chive; or edamame dip, avocado, lotus chips & green chilli oil.

From the Raw Bar, choices include sashimi/tuna kingfish, salmon, coral trout and scallops; Wagyu tartar, fermented kimchi roll, egg yolk & cucumber; or sashimi tacos with fermented chilli and avocado cream.
