Ymca Rat Race
Kangaroo Point
Get ready for some cheeky, cheesy fun when the YMCA Rat Race returns to Captain Burke Park in Kangaroo Point on Sunday, October 28.
The annual event, which helps support the YMCA Schools’ Breakfast Program, sees teams of 2 or more complete a crazy 4km or 8km obstacle course.
This year promises to be cheesier than ever with 16 obstacles to overcome plus 10 Wild Card challenges.
Competitors must scamper, skid and slide across fun-themed obstacles – with names like The Rat Trap, Be Amazed, Feisty Fondue, Cheese Squeeze, Slip n’ Slice and Rat Attack - while protecting a giant, inflatable cheese.
While this might sound ch-easy, Pest Patrols will be running interference trying to rescue the cheese.
Guaranteed to be a fun-filled day, this exciting urban adventure starts and finishes in Captain Burke Park. Participants will loop around, along the top of the Kangaroo Point Cliffs, down past Story Bridge Hotel and finish the race back in Captain Burke Park beside the Brisbane River.
Once teams have scurried across the finish-line, the cheesy good times keep rolling with wine, cheese and live entertainment in The Village festival area.
Nice to know - This year both courses (4km & 8km) are open to anyone aged 7yrs +.
