BY.ARTISANS is a stunning bar, distillery, cafe and creative space occupying a dreamy beautifully repurposed warehouse in West End.

True to its name, BY. ATISANS is the result of a collaboration between artisan distiller Alexander Bell and designer Alexander Lotersztain (who is behind the gorgeous interior). Step into the light-filled space to find a beautifully designed retreat, featuring chairs by Faye Toogood, Philpe Strack vintage pendants and lush plants. 

More than just a working distillery, BY.ARTISANS, which is unlike anything else to be found in Brisbane, is a welcoming community retreat with artistic expression at its core, with the culturally vibrant neighbourhood of West End the perfect setting for its HQ. Not just a pretty space, the distillery, which crafts its spirits from Australian botanicals, is dedicated to reducing waste, turning its by products into soaps and oils.

It's also the kind of place you want to hang out by day or night, and the cafe and bar food and drink offerings are a match for the decor. The bespoke cocktails are a work of art, including The West Ender (a twist on the classic Moscow Mule, with BY.ARISANS gin, house-made elderflower syrup, Strangelove hot ginger beer & lime, with mint garnish); Keep it Simple (a clarified Pina Colada with BY.ARTISANS Platino, housemade cream of coconut, lime & pineapple juice & house-made falernum garnished with dehydrated lime & pineapple fronds).

Lovers of purple need to try The Purple One (+81 vodka, housemade blackberry, lavender & butterfly pea syrup, lemon juice & egg white); while those who like their classics can also enjoy a mojito, negroni, cosmopolitan, margarita or espresso martini. 

BY. ARTISANS also has a small selection of Witches Falls Wines on offer, Echoes or Disco beer (and Low Key non-alcoholic beer) as well as Industry Beans coffee, hot chocolate, mocha or iced chocolate.

The food menu ranges from nibbles like nuts or marinated olives to small dishes like hummus with za'atar pickled vegetables & crackers; cheese and charcuterie plate (serves 2); daily toastie (ham, provolone, comte and mustard on sourdough) and daily crostone (Cantabrian anchovies, stracciatella, basil & lemon zest on toasted sourdough or heirloom ripe tomatoes, stracciatella, basil & evoo). And for something sweet there's Portuguese custard tarts.

There's also a small retail space with carefully-sourced wares from Japan, local products and BY, ARTISANS clothing range. And as well as the tasting rooms, bar, café, event space, BY. ARTISANS is set to offer opportunities for interactive workshops and experiences.
