Hiro Meshi is a hidden gem of a Japanese kitchen nestled in Brisbane's northern side in the unassuming Banyo Bowls Club.
A closely guarded local's secret, Hiro Meshi offers a unique Japanese culinary experience within a charming old-fashioned bowls club.
The no-frills decor is in contrast to the flavoursome food, which is akin to what you'd find in a Japanese restaurant in Brisbane's inner city.
The menu is a fusion of traditional Japanese flavours with a modern twist, starting with small plates such as pork or vegetable gyoza, agedashi tofu and whiting panko with chips.
Large dishes include Wagyu Yakiniku Burger, Omelette Curry and Cheesy Chicken Katsu or Pork Kakuni Don, all of which are recommended.
In a nutshell - The combination of a diverse menu, inviting old fashioned ambiance, and regular updates on social media make it a must-visit. The Banyo Bowls Club is a wonderful venue allowing visitors to step back in time with its original interiors and wonderful old fashioned customer service.
Need to know- Kids are welcome. There is plenty of street parking available.
