Petrie Terrace

Caxton Street Brewing Co is Petrie Terrace's brand-new watering hole, where locals and visitors alike can catch-up over a few fresh brews and juicy burgers.

Caxton Street Brewing Co, Petrie Terrace

Located on the corner of Caxton Street and Petrie Terrace, Caxton Brewing fills the void left when Fritzenberger closed its doors. The venue has been given a new lick of paint and a new lease on life as a microbrewery - with an array of beers made on site.

Caxton Brewing's fresh beers on tap include Pale Ale, Helles Lager, Hazy Pale Ale, and a creamy Easy Stout, poured along with experimental small batch brews like Ribena Sour and Passionfruit Kölsch

Food wise, the menu features American-style fare, from juicy cheeseburgers and chicken wings to crispy, beer-battered onion rings.

As well as a classic cheeseburger, there's a spicy chicken burger (panko-crumbed chicken schnitzel with sriracha mayo, slaw and red chillies), and the CBC Burger - house-made beef patty, bacon, melted cheddar, lettuce, tomato, pickles and special sauce.

Rounding out the concise food menu is a vegan burger, Korean or BBQ chicken wings, seasoned fries, golden onion rings and a couple of salads: rocket salad with shaved parmesan and honey balsamic dressing, and apple with pomegranate seeds, feta cheese and walnuts.

The brewery boasts plenty of seating inside, which features a modern industrial vibe, and outside with tables lined up along the footpath.

Besides beer, Caxton Brewing has a carefully curated wine list of Australian and NZ wines, served along with Australian crafted spirits, plus Espresso Martinis and Gin Spritzs on tap.

Nice to know - The dimly-lit, atmospheric basement downstairs is home to the Good Chat Comedy Club, and is available to hire for private events.
