Britain On The Bayside

Birkdale

BRITAIN ON THE BAYSIDE HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Homesick Brits, expats and those who can’t afford the air fare can get their fix of everything from stilton cheese, Cornish pasties, eccle cakes, digestives, Marmite, yorkshire pudding batter, pork pies, HP Sauce and treacle to Arsenal Football Club backpacks or Beatrix Potter dolls at this temple to ol’ Blighty, part of a tiny enclave of Brit-inspired food joints in the Paradise Centre.

If you don’t fancy the trip to Birkdale, despite its proximity to the breezy bayside villages of Cleveland and Wellington Point, you can order from the extensive range of British products on line. However those impartial to scampi, mushy peas and the odd deep fried Mars bar may not be able to resist the added lure of the co-owned Chumley Warner’s the traditional British fish’n’chips shop, or the traditional Brit-style Balti curry house, both a short waddle away in the same shopping complex.
