Ballet International Gala

Concert Hall, QPAC

Following last year’s sell-out performance, the critically acclaimed Ballet International Gala (BIG) returns to QPAC for one-night-only on August 7, 2024, for an enchanted evening filled with world-class ballet.

Audiences will see some of the world's most acclaimed dancers perform some of ballet’s most iconic repertoires, with a surprising and modern twist.

BIG has carefully curated each performance to highlight the best dance repertoires from some of ballet's most renowned shows such as Spartacus, Swan Lake and Caravaggio. Each performance is under 10 minutes, with 10 individual classical and contemporary dances tying together into one awe-inspiring show.

This year, BIG will be headlined by international ballet royalty Alina Cojocaru OBE, renowned for her impeccable technique and emotional depth as a dancer. Alina has danced as a principal artist with the world's most prestigious companies including the Royal Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, Paris Opera Ballet and American Ballet Theatre.

Alina will be joined by other international heavyweights from the Australian Ballet, Bayerisches Staatsballett, and more, in what is described as a ballet like no other.

The Ballet International Gala will conclude with its signature all-star finale, which will see each artist compete with one another, by showcasing their most impressive solo performances.

Since making its debut in 2022, BIG has attracted ballet’s biggest-ever names to perform across Australia, including principal artists from The Royal Ballet, Teatro Alla Scala, Bolshoi Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Staatsballett Berlin, the Australian Ballet and more.

BIG’s bite-sized ballet offerings have attracted a new wave of ballet lovers, making the art form more accessible and enjoyable for generations to come.

Tickets are on sale now and selling fast, so don't delay and book now for an unmissable evening of ballet!
