US retail giants Pottery Barn have their flagship Queensland store just off James St, Fortitude Valley – a mega emporium of stylish, unique and affordable homewares and furnishings that has to be seen to be believed.
Under one giant roof Pottery Barn and their retail arms Pottery Barn Kids and West Elm come together as an interconnected mass of showrooms, beautifully set out and packed with homewares, furniture, home decor, lighting and accessories that you won’t find anywhere else.
While Pottery Barn’s signature style is all about comfort and quality, West Elm is more lifestyle-oriented, based on direct collaborations with artisans and with an emphasis on modern mid-century design.
In the Pottery Barn sections you’ll find a huge and eclectic range of table settings and wares for both indoor and outdoor settings, carved wooden bars, chandeliers and lamps, pottery vases, scented candles, picnic sets, café umbrellas, shelving, ornate mirrors, desks, office chairs, sofas and outdoor furniture.
Wander through to West Elm to find a host of furniture in mid-century style, from leather swivel chairs and chic arm chairs to lounges and dining tables.
Terrariums, cushions, candle lanterns, tea sets, luxuriant Belgian linen, dining sets, retro hostess trolleys, curtains, rustic chests of drawers, beds and even an outdoor lounge pit for the garden are just a fraction of what can be found.
Meantime Pottery Barn Kids conjures up the enchantment of old-fashioned childhoods with classic styles meeting contemporary culture.
Bunk beds, dreamy 4 poster beds, divine bed linen including ballerina and super hero quilts, mini lounge chairs, rocking chairs and bean bags, rugs, mats and lamps and light-up cityscapes for the wall are just part of the furnishings on offer.
Amongst the myriad of other offerings there’s state of the art doll’s houses, train sets and ensembles, fire stations, mini kitchens complete with sinks, retro fridges and stoves, Pottery Barn dolls and beautiful story books, kids themed back packs and even drink bottles, while for nurseries there’s designer cots, bassinettes and change tables and stylish feeding chairs.
