Repose Cafe

Wavell Heights

REPOSE CAFE HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED AND BEEN REPLACED BY BARROW & BEAR.

Repose Cafe in Wavell Heights is the northside's go-to spot for healthy, fresh food and a great coffee. Beautifully decorated, this little cafe is elegant yet relaxed, creating the feeling of being somewhere special.

The motto here is "nourishing food and coffee at its best" - and that's exactly what customers can expect to find. Clever twists on old favourites provide healthy choices for breakfast and lunch, whilst those with a sweet tooth are also catered for. Gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian options are also available.

Popular for breakfast is the Chia Parfait which sees chia porridge (made with almond milk) layered with seasonal fruit and gluten free muesli and topped with coconut yoghurt. For something with a little more kick, spiced beans with chorizo and feta served with sourdough toast promise to deliver a great taste sensation.

Lunchtime picks include smoked salmon, smashed avocado, feta and herbs served on a toasted wholegrain bagel or cheesy bacon fingers served with a ramekin of spaghetti and toast. Even the sandwiches are something special here with Nanna's Knock-up (chicken, avocado, toasted walnuts and herb mayonnaise) taking the humble sandwich to a new level. Artisan, stone baked breads are sourced from Brisbane's Wild Breads, whilst the majority of the food items are made on site.

Coconut cupcakes with salted caramel scrolls are as pretty as a picture and a tempting range of cakes, slices and biscuits will satisfy those looking for a sweet treat.

It's not just the food that's special at Repose Cafe - delicious drinks are also on the menu. Elixir coffee is served at Repose Cafe, along with a range of teas including English Breakfast, Duchess Grey, Japanese Sencha Quince and Prana Chai. For a real treat, try the Chai Coffee Latte - and order a large one because a small one just isn't enough! Norco milk is used here with the option of Bonsoy, lactose free or almond milk. Whey protein powder is also available.

Looking for a healthy smoothie? The vanilla lime green smoothie (spinach, yoghurt, honey, banana, lime and vanilla) or perhaps the choc nut banana smoothie (cacao, almond butter and banana) will tick that box. Choose to enjoy the ambience inside or the sunshine outside - either way the friendly service and nourishing menu make a visit to Repose Cafe a feel-good experience.
