Hey Joe Coffee + Co

East Brisbane

Hey Joe is a slick eatery in East Brisbane dishing up delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner with plenty of plant-based fare, served along with excellent espresso and more.

Nestled on a leafy street corner, opposite Mowbray Park, the light-filled cafe features high-ceilings and exposed brick with comfortable banquette seating.

The all day breakfast menu boasts breakfast classics like eggs benedict and pancake stacks, as well as avocado smash with feta and smashed pumpkin on Turkish toast. Otherwise, there's crispy cauliflower and corn fritters with bacon, house-made breakfast gnocchi with mushrooms, and Indian-influenced dishes such as Eggs Kejriwal Bhurji (spiced capsicum and chilli scrambled eggs) and lentil and spinach dahl served with house-made flat bread.

A lunch menu (served from 11am-3pm) ranges from cobb chicken caesar salad and Joe's classic cheesburger to fettucine carbonara; while dinner dishes include crispy skin barramundi, charred mushroom and bacon gnocchi, garlic prawn risotto, and more burgers - think smoked bacon and Angus beef, southern fried chicken and barbecue pulled pork.

There's an extensive vegan menu which includes delish dishes such as their vegan omelette made with chickpea flour batter, topped with pan-fried potatoes, sauteed mushrooms, avocado, chipotle relish and tomato salsa. In addition, there's vegan gnocchi, shroom burgers and much more.

Hey Joe is child-friendly with a kids' menu consisting of eggs on toast, pancakes with ice-cream, grilled chicken burgers and ham and cheese toasties.

Besides coffee, there are specialty organic lattes (turmeric and matcha), real chai brewed on the stove, house-made iced teas, milkshakes, smoothies, and freshly squeezed juices. Hey Joe is licensed with beer on tap and bottled, a concise selection of wines, and cocktails including Mimosas, Pimms, and Espresso Martinis.
