Sondheim on Sondheim

Concert Hall, QPAC

SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO CORONAVIRUS SECURITY MEASURES.

Sondheim on Sondheim celebrates the 90th birthday of musical theatre legend, Stephen Sondheim, on his actual birthday, Sunday, March 22 at QPAC's Concert Hall.

Presented by QPAC and Brisbane Philharmonic Orchestra, this special concert will feature much-loved classics from West Side Story, Gypsy, Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Sunday in the Park with George, Into the Woods, Assassins, and more.

Making its Australian premiere in Brisbane at QPAC, with the full symphony orchestra arrangements, this production was created especially for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra at its debut at the Hollywood Bowl in 2017.

Headlining this must-see show are award-winning stage and screen star Philip Quast (Les Misérables, Sunday in the Park with George, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries), and West End and Australian musical leading lady Anne Wood (Cats, Mamma Mia, Into the Woods).

The stellar line-up also includes some of Australia’s finest musical theatre talent: Jason Barry-Smith, Jarrod Draper, Alister Kingsley, Naomi Price, Patrice Tipoki, and four Bachelor of Musical Theatre degree students from Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University.

For fans of Sondheim, this will be an unforgettable evening of show tunes.
