Let’s Go Play Today Kids Fitness Program
Let’s Go Play Today is a new fitness program for kids – the perfect antidote to the often sedentary lives youngsters lead these days while glued to a screen of some sort. Parents scratching their heads wondering how they’ll inspire their offspring to get up, get out and get fit will welcome the new program, run by PB Fitness & Body Transformation (in Brisbane’s Queen Street Mall), with it already receiving some very positive feedback.
Owner and PB’s resident personal trainer, Luke Armstrong, had an active childhood in a country town in New South Wales, and lists designing the Let’s Go Play Today kids’ e-book as one of his proudest achievements. Says Luke, “Working with kids and implementing programs that will help them grow with correct posture and movement is a goal and vision I have in the coming years.” Luke emphasises that he wants to see kids develop good posture and movement now to avoid pain and problems in later life. And with the obesity issue only getting worse in our kids, the program is filling a very real need to get kids active.
So, what does the Let’s Go Play Today program entail? Any parent knows that it can be challenging to capture their kids’ interest in something, let alone keep it. But there are plenty of stimulating activities designed to go over 12 weeks, with the e-book aiming to improve and retain core movement skills through game and play. Each week has a fun new character shown in cartoon illustrations with every game explained in detail. There are more than 60 games with in-depth instruction, and confidence building and good old-fashioned fun are at the heart of them.
Games include simple exercises using equipment you’d already have at home, such as a tennis ball, soccer ball, paper and pen. There are retrieval games, target games, leap frog, mini Olympics, wheelbarrow race, speed jumping and many more. Each has an aim, a time limit, and sometimes reward, for instance if a task is achieved under the time limit, an extra point is gained.
Let’s Go Play Today is available through PB Fitness and Body Transformation’s website here for $39.95.
