Six Feet Under
Newstead
SIX FEET UNDER HAS CLOSED AND BEEN REPLACED BY NEWSTEAD UNDERGROUND.
Six Feet Under is an uber cool, underground café found in the basement of a beautiful brick building on an industrial backstreet in Newstead.
Inside, the former factory has been transformed into a stunning dining space with high ceilings, polished concrete flooring, solid cement pillars, smart furnishings and pops of greenery.
The all-day menu offers a foodie’s selection of breakfast and lunch dishes. The former ranges from goat’s milk panna cotta and peaches to avocado on seeded sourdough with mandarin kosho and heirloom tomatoes, and leek and potato pancakes in dashi broth with soft egg and mushrooms.
Lunch-style dishes include scallops with black pudding, pea panna cotta, pumpkin and puffed pork rind, katsu fried chicken on milk buns, spanner crab risotto, and hanger steak served with duck fat potatoes, roast onion, mushrooms and jus.
Coffee on pour is by Genovese. Otherwise, there are organic Mayde teas, Prana chai, milkshakes, smoothies, Cleanse Kitchen juices and organic low-sugar sodas by Soda Press Co.
Nice to know – Six Feet Under is available as a function space.
