Pochana

Brisbane Cbd

Updated: Dec 30, 2020

Pochana is cooking up authentic Thai street food and mixing insane cocktails, in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD.

Sister venue to the popular Kinn + Derm franchise, Pochana is a large restaurant decked out to make diners feel as though they are in the streets of Thailand. Every detail has been selected to create the Thai ambience, down to the lit commercial signage and hanging planters.

The restaurant serves lunch, dinner and drinks with an abundance of meals on the menu to choose from. Often diners visit Pochana for drinks with a few snacks on the side, as their drinks menu is quite bespoke – serving ginormous cocktails like the Chill Chill which serves 3-4 guests.

Share plates are a great place to start at Pochana, ensuring you can try a bit of everything. Try their satay chicken skewers, which are served with a cucumber relish and peanut sauce.

San choy bao is another great share plate, containing two roasted duck and chicken lettuce cups.

The papaya crispy soft-shell crab salad is a popular order – which provides a bit more substance than the popular classic Thai papaya salad.

If you’re a Thai curry lover, give Pochana’s green chicken curry a go. This classic green curry is abundant with chicken and Asian vegetables, topped with Thai basil – you can alter the chilli level too.

The Asian chilli soft shell crab is a unique dish that has become a favourite at Pochana. The crab is served in a pool of sweet and sour chilli sauce mixed with egg, it’s the perfect combination of flavours.

Pochana also serves other incredible cocktails, such as the Kamikaze Volcano, made with vodka, blue curacao, raspberry and grenadine.

Need to know – Pochana is close to public transport hubs.

Nice to know – Live music plays most evenings at Pochana - a Thai band who also plays Indie covers.
