Grumpy G’s Kitchen

Fortitude Valley

GRUMPY G'S KITCHEN HAS CLOSED.

Grumpy G’s Kitchen is bringing Northern and Southern Vietnamese flavours to the heart of Fortitude Valley, with their authentic street kitchen style restaurant.

Grumpy G's, Fortitude Valley

The eatery has a street Vietnamese vibe, with a wooden shack exterior and features such as vertical foliage, stool seating and stained-glass windows indoors. There are communal tables for dining as well, and takeaway is a popular choice amongst diners on-the-go.

The menu is laden with Vietnamese influenced dishes, with an element of personalisation as you can choose your meats and dipping sauces. Popular snacks on-the-go are the gourmet spring rolls and the fresh rice paper rolls, both served with your choice of meat and made fresh on site.

Naturally, pho adorns Grumpy G’s menu but this pho has quite the twist, introducing flavours from Northern Vietnam. What is believed to be the only restaurant in Brisbane which serves this Northern inspired dish, it’s no surprise that the delicious chicken broth is cooked for a whopping eight hours. It is served with a tangy lime dipping sauce designed to dip your chicken in when eating.

If vermicelli noodle salad takes your fancy instead, definitely try Grumpy G’s two choice combo of grilled chicken and grilled pork. Its generous portion will keep you full all day.

Feeling adventurous? Tuck into Grumpy G’s Com Rice which is a typical Vietnamese breakfast dish. The 3 ways pork is quite a hit with diners and goes down well with a traditional Vietnamese iced coffee.

Or, ask staff to create a savoury Vietnamese pancake. Wrap the pancake in a lettuce cup with a sprig of mint and coriander and enjoy – it’s a winning dish.
