Bemac World Music Cafe

Cubana Fuego

The Queensland Multicultural Centre will be transformed into a Cuban carnival when the final 2017 BEMAC World Music Café - Cubana Fuego bursts onto our social calendar later this month, and you won't want to miss it.

If you're thinking Buena Vista Social Club, or humming Santana and Rob Thomas' Smooth then you're on the right track for the groove of the music that will sway your hips and get you up dancing for this fiery one-night only performance. Spanish guitars, sexy brass, the beat of the conga - you simply won't be able to kerb the urge to sit still.

BEMAC's Cubana Fuego

The sensual sounds of Brisbane's popular duo, Imaya, coupled with the Sunshine Coast's Canta La Tumba will reach into your soul to stir your thoughts and emotions with their passionate, red-blooded and heartfelt Latin jazz and Afro-Cuban sounds and lyrics.

Imaya, comprising of vocalist Susanna O'Leary and virtuosic flamenco guitarist Cameron de la Vega, are regulars on the local music scene, and will take you on a melodic journey with their sentimental harmonies and powerful flamenco style. Past performances include Valley Fiesta, Qld Conservatorium of Music plus BEMAC's 2016, Echoes compilation.

BEMAC's Cubana Fuego

The up-tempo and stirring music of Canta La Tumba, well-known crowd pleasers at popular SE Qld events such as Woodfood Folk Festival, FESTURI, Caloundra Music Festival, U Tribe Festival, Maleny Music Festival and many more, will captivate the hearts of Brisbane music lovers and drag you into the fold of their tales of romance, passion and heartbreak.

Nice to know - There will be a bar and food available before the show, and during interval. Doors open at 6.30pm and the performance starts at 7pm. There's plenty of free parking onsite and in the local streets.

Need to know - The previous two World Music Café's sold out quickly, so book online without delay.
