Richard Goes Rogue

With Help From Hajime

Richard Goes Rogue, with Help From Hajime is another wine-matched culinary adventure from Stokehouse Q that no foodie will want to miss.

The dynamic 5 course degustation experience will celebrate both Japanese and contemporary Australian cuisines, marking an exciting collaboration between StokehouseQ chef Ricard Ousby and Hajime Horiguchi.

The event also marks the introduction of the restaurant’s new RAW menu, created as part of the collaboration – drawing inspiration from the existing RAW menu at Stokehouse St Kilda.

Chef Hajime Horiguchi starred as Head Chef at the double hatted Minamishima restaurant in Melbourne before journeying north to Queensland and the acclaimed Wasabi, the state’s top rated regional restaurant. He then opened his own food mecca, Tanto near Hervey Bay, focusing on fresh local produce and Queensland’s internationally acclaimed seafood.

He has created an indelible mark on the Australian culinary landscape with an acclaimed canon of unique Japanese-Australian dishes, and a mantelpiece of awards - two hats from the Good Food and Wine Guide, Best Regional Restaurant, a National Finalist of Electrolux Appetite for Excellence (2013), State finalist 2014, and Top 10 of Pacific S. Pellegrino Young Chef Award, just to name a few.

Pair his pedigree with Stokehouse Q’s Executive Chef, Richard Ousby, who also boasts a long list of awards and heads up the dining experience at both the Brisbane restaurant as well as the recently re-opened St Kilda venue, and the result is set to be more than memorable. More info here
