Shen Yun
Concert Hall Qpac
Experience the amazing spectacle of Shen Yun, where ancient Chinese culture is sublimely portrayed in music and dance, at the QPAC Concert Hall, 14 – 15 April.
Shen Yun presents a visually spectacular and emotionally uplifting performance where it brings back traditional Chinese culture from when China was known as the Land of the Divine. Ancient legends are combined with technological innovations, historically authentic costumes and breathtaking animated backdrops.
The result is that audiences can’t get enough and often come back for repeat performances. Some travel hundreds of kilometres or even fly overseas to see the show.
Shen Yun has its origins in 2006 when a group of elite Chinese artists came together in New York to restore an artform that was almost destroyed by the Communist ruling party during the Cultural Revolution. Sadly, the show can’t actually be seen in China, however it’s sold out in places like Lincoln Centre in New York, the London Coliseum, and across Europe and Asia. Fans include Cate Blanchett, who described it as “exquisitely beautiful… an extraordinary experience!”
Shen Yun is presented by the Falun Dafa Association of Australia.
