Sherlock Holmes – The Mystery of the Valkyrie

The world's most famous detective is returning to the QPAC stage with Sherlock Holmes – The Mystery of the Valkyrie bringing murder, mystery and plenty of twists and turns to QPAC’s Playhouse Theatre from November 14-29. 

Following its world premiere at QPAC in 2023, the homegrown whodunnit is returning for an exclusive Brisbane season, inviting audiences to put their detective skills to the test as Holmes attempts to crack another baffling case.

Written and directed by Brisbane playwright and director Michael Futcher, Sherlock Holmes - The Mystery of the Valkyrie puts a fresh spin on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s legendary detective tale, combining an original mystery with fast-paced action and cinematic visual design by award-winning video designer Craig Wilkinson.

The story begins with a gruesome murder at London’s Birlstone Manor, where what initially appears to be a straightforward investigation quickly spirals into a much darker web of intrigue - and brings Holmes face-to-face with his most infamous enemy, Professor Moriarty.

Returning as the brilliant detective is six-time Matilda Award-winning actor Eugene Gilfedder, alongside acclaimed Australian actor Ian Stenlake as Holmes’ loyal companion, Dr Watson.
