Charmjuree Thai Cuisine

If you've eaten at Thai Naramit in Hendra, you already know the calibre of cooking behind this new Racecourse Rd restaurant. Charmjuree is the same team's next chapter - a fresh, elevated take on Thai dining that keeps one foot planted firmly in tradition while reaching for something new.

Designed by the Lowry Group, the interior is bright, elegant and unmistakably nature-inspired - natural textures, soft light and organic touches that echo the rain tree the restaurant is named after.

It doesn't feel like a typical Thai restaurant fit-out; it feels closer to a considered, contemporary retreat, with clean lines and warm materials working together to create a space that's as calming as it is polished.

The menu is enormous and covers every corner of Thai cooking, but a few dishes stand out as the ones worth building your table around.

Start with the Wagyu Skewers and Crispy Pork Belly Bites - bold, punchy openers you'll want to order twice. 

Followed by the beautifully handcrafted Chor Muang Butterfly Pea Dumplings and clean, simple Oysters with Seafood Sauce.

For mains, the Whole Barramundi is a true centrepiece, built for sharing and served with your choice of sauce, while The Honey 'Gai Yang' with Sticky Rice brings comfort and craft together with its Nahm Jim Jaew dipping sauce.

The 'MAMA' Pad Kee Mao Drunken Noodles - with Wagyu or Tiger Prawn - deliver bold, fragrant flavour that lingers long after the meal. Round it out with a punchy Som Tum salad, soup or any of the many more Thai classics. 

Make sure to save room for dessert. The Signature Dessert Banana Blossom (banana fritters, coconut ice cream, fresh fruit) is the showstopper, but the Bingsu range - snow ice piled with everything from salted egg sauce to mango and pandan sticky rice - is worth the trip alone if you haven't tried Thai-style shaved ice before.

With premium ingredients, thoughtful plating, a beautifully designed room and a menu deep enough to reward repeat visits, Charmjuree is one of Brisbane's most exciting Thai openings of the year.
