Originally dreamed up in California back in 1996, the world-renowned Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. is officially making its Australian debut right here in Brisbane, landing in Sandgate later this year!
Far from your average eatery, the venue promises a fully immersive dive into the world of Forrest Gump. Expect to find the legendary Jenny boat moored nearby, ping pong tables ready for a tournament, and a treasure trove of movie memorabilia that will transport you straight to Alabama.
On the menu, it’s all about high-quality catches and casual American comfort food, reimagined with a cheeky Aussie twist. Whether you’re there for the shrimp (served every which way, of course) or the hearty Southern-style mains, the playful atmosphere is guaranteed to be as satisfying as the fare. Naturally, no visit is complete without a stop at the official merch store—because you can’t exactly leave without snagging a souvenir hat and quoting the film’s most famous lines.
To wash it all down, the bar will be pouring a reliable selection of beer, wine, and spirits alongside a vibrant list of signature cocktails. And in true Bubba Gump fashion, these colourful concoctions come served in glassware that you can purchase as a memento.
