Bar Taco

Bar Taco is a funky tequila bar housed in an old art deco shop on Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley, annexed to sibling The Magee Pub & Dining.

The venue, which was once a general store amongst its many incarnations, still retains some of its historic features, including the bay windows, tiled exterior, door and terrazzo floors.  

The cosy rustic cantina-style bar with retro posters on walls has a retro 1970s lounge on one corner with other seating comprising Bentwood chairs and tables, a private dining room out back and some bar stools and tables on the street.

The agave-based drinks menu features an impressive selection of both top shelf (Espolòn) and standard tequilas, as well as a smattering of Mezcal and a couple of beers. House signature cocktails are the margaritas - a must-try!

To accompany there's a small but tasty taco menu, including prawn (green cabbage, lime creme, Mexican chilli spice & Cholula sauce; chicken (chipotle chicken, fresh tomaton salsa, Pickled Jalapeno); pork (smoked pulled pork, pineapple & corn salsa, Tajin spice); beef (slow cooked brisket, onions & coriander sald & Cholula sauce) and vego (Chef;s choice).

Good to know - background music comes from a retro turntable spinning vinyl in the front corner.

Need to know - There is limited street parking nearby on Robertson St and Berwick St.
