The Legacy Anzac Biscuit Bake Off 2020
With Anzac Day gatherings cancelled across the country, Legacy has turned to digital technology and social media to keep the spirit alive, with the launch of their inaugural Legacy Anzac Biscuit Bake Off.
Australia's first virtual Anzac Biscuit Bake Off combines baking with social media and online fundraising, to create a unique way for people to commemorate Anzac Day in their homes, while supporting the families of our fallen Anzacs.
Legacy is calling on Australians to come together virtually to bake their favourite Anzac biscuit recipes, share these creations across social media, and donate to Legacy, a tradition spanning 100 years.
The story of Legacy has its origins in a foxhole during the battle of Pozieres in 1916, when a dying digger is said to have asked his mate to promise to look after his “missus and kids” back home. Since 1923, Legacy has helped families carry on with their lives after the loss or injury of a loved one in military service.
The Legacy Anzac Biscuit Bake Off is a brilliant way to help raise much needed funds for Legacy so they can continue to provide these services, which remain as necessary as ever with 52,000 elderly widows, single parents, grieving children and people with a disability being supported across Australia.
So, get busy baking and make this Anzac Day count!
