Lefkas Taverna

West End

Lefkas Taverna is the quintessential Greek taverna, perched high on a hill in the original heartland of Brisbane's Greek community - West End.

A local institution for many years, on weekends Brisbane folk flock to Lefkas for a traditional taste of Greece, from the delicious food to the live bouzouki music.

Just like tavernas in Greece, Lefkas has a fantastic communal vibe where everyone of all ages feels at home, from families with kids to couples and big groups of friends.

Diners at Lefkas are treated to generous portions of authentic Greek cuisine, including large platters designed to share, from mezze to seafood, souvlaki and yiros as well as traditional mains and desserts.

Delicious mezze include house made dips (tarama, tzatziki, hommus, eggplant & feta or potato and dill) served with warm pita, haloumi; saganaki; marithes (dusted local whitebait); Dolmathakia;  sardeles (sardines, lemon & black pepper); befteki (Greek pork rissoles) and kolokithokeftedes (zucchini balls, fetta and fresh herbs). Can't decide? then order a selection to share.

For second course, highly recommended is one of the share platters, starting with Combination for 2 (chicken/lamb souvlakia, octopus, calamari, haloumi, tzatziki & pita) or Seafood for 2 (octopus, fish, mussels & calamari), up to the Lefkas Legend Platter. Otherwise, hearty traditional Main Meals include moussaka; baked lemon chicken; spanakopita (spinach & fetta pie) or delectable arni sto forno (baked baby lamb shoulder for 2, with rosemary & oregano).

Lefkas also has the capacity to host events of all types and group sizes, with various areas offering different layouts and settings, each with their own unique Greek village vibes. Choose from sit down platter style events or stand up mezze & cocktail, customizable to each group and their requirements

The wine list at Lefkas includes a mix of Australian and Greek wines and you can also enjoy a Greek-flavoured cocktail, ouzo or Lefkas lager on tap with your meal. *On Wednesday and Thursday nights you can BYO wine, with a corkage charge of $8 per bottle.

Good to know - On Friday nights from 6pm, diners are treated to live bouzouki music so you can truly be transported to Greece.

Need to know - There is also a takeaway menu so you can enjoy the taste of Lefkas at home. A limited amount of on street parking is available nearby.
