Le Caprice Patisserie is a little slice of France found in the heart of Bulimba, serving freshly-baked French treats.

Setting foot inside this petite patisserie is like stepping off the streets of Paris, with French music playing softly in the background and the wonderful aroma of pastries. croissants and gateaux.

Sweet offerings range from delicious eclairs (vanilla, chocolate and coffee) to decadent cakes and a selection of petit fours. There are lemon meringue tarts, tartes noisette (hazelnut cream and caramel mousse) and must-try gateaux like Religieuse (choux pastry filled with coffee custard) and Le Framboise with lightly-whipped vanilla custard and raspberry puree.

Baskets are filled with baguettes, almond croissants, pain au chocolate and more.

Savoury treats include perfectly golden puff pastry pies: beef bourguignon, chicken and leek or ratatouille (zucchini, tomato, onion and capsicum). In addition, there are mini quiches – Lorraine, Provençale and pumpkin – served with salad.

Little tables line a laneway with additional seating provided on the footpath for those who want to linger longer.
