Walter’s Steakhouse

Brisbane CBD

Walter’s Steakhouse serves up premium, dry-aged sizzling steak in their charming, old-world restaurant in Brisbane’s Old Mineral House.

The expansive restaurant has a warm and inviting bar room, as well as three dining rooms. These are laden with booths, long tables and intimate tables for two. The quaint décor involves overfilled bookcases, floor-to-ceiling curtains and artistic wall murals.

The restaurant pays tribute to Walter Hill, the creator of the Brisbane Botanical Gardens, in which the Old Mineral House overlooks.

On arrival, Walter’s serves freshly baked bread (made in-house) with cultured butter and Walter’s very own steak sauce.

Try Walter’s Rockefeller oysters to start – these bespoke oysters are served topped with Pernod, butter, spinach and crunchy breadcrumbs.

If you love the surf and turf concept, perhaps tuck into their Bugs Thermidor – Moreton Bay Bug mixed with brandy, mustard and gruyere.

Naturally, Walters prime Australian grain-fed beef, dry-aged and cut in house is a recommended dish – designed for sharing, this dish is created for two, three or four.

It goes great with Walter’s Steak Sauce, provided with the bread.

Accompanying potatoes can be fried, mashed, steamed or in the form of fries.

Believe it or not, Walter’s Creamed Spinach is really making a name for itself – it’s truly delicious.

Finish off your meal with one of their delectable desserts, such as a warm apple strudel.

Walter’s has a selection of premium wines, beers and spirits. They also make a delightful classic martini and cocktails designed for its location. Try the Sunshine State for a delicious and refreshing beverage.

Nice to know – Walter’s also has a selection of other mains including fish and vegetarian options.
