Jacob's Ladder Cafe

Runcorn

Updated: Nov 18, 2018

Jacob’s Ladder is a hidden gem of a café tucked away in a suburban shopping strip in Runcorn, serving specialty coffee, flavoured hot chocolate, organic tea, sweet treats and light eats.

Located on the corner of Compton Road and Condamine Street, this cosy café with minimalist décor is open six days a week, caffeinating customers from morning til night. Coffee on pour is Supreme with two blends to choose from: Supreme’s signature blend and The Origin (crafted to showcase Ethiopian coffee).

Coffee connoisseurs can opt for pour over, cold drip or try a JL Flight – espresso plus single shot of any white coffee plus cold drip. Otherwise, there’s a good selection of house made, bottled iced coffee, iced chocolate and the café’s signature sparkling ade (kiwi, grapefruit or lemon).

Delicious cups of hot chocolate come in milk, white or dark (70%) chocolate and can be flavoured with peppermint, lavender or orange to name a few flavours. Tea is by Chamellia and is available in English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Gunpowder Green and Lemongrass Ginger.

Food wise, customers can satiate their sweet tooth with almond croissants, blueberry muffins and chocolate brownies, or start their morning with house made granola (fig, apricot, date, almond, sultana and coconut) served with organic honey, natural yoghurt and mixed berries.

Or try a gourmet sandwich such as roast chicken and avocado with feta, fresh greens and tomato on Turkish or grilled haloumi and pepperoni on Turkish with avocado.
