No. 68

Newstead

Updated: Mar 06, 2023

NO.68 HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED.

No.68 is serving specialty coffee and delicious healthy dishes, as well as indulgent cheat meals, in the back streets of Newstead.

The corner café bar, located opposite Function Well gym and Inspire Cycle on Commercial Road, is in an unusually shaped building which resembles that of New York’s Flatiron building. Inside, the triangular space is filled with eclectic dining tables and a fully stocked bar.

No.68 serves both breakfast and lunch, as well as afternoon drinks and coffee. There’s an abundance of unique dishes on the menu, including their miso chilli eggs on hemp seed sourdough.

The avocado smash is another popular choice for breaky, topped with coconut Labneh on quinoa rye sourdough.

When it comes to the lunch menu, diners can choose out of a variety of healthy dishes; such as their vegan burger. Their burger is filled with mushrooms, rocket, Persian feta and a beetroot relish, served with a side of lotus chips.

Alternatively, tuck into the ultimate cheat meal – No.68’s something sweet loaded smores waffle fries – they even have little caramel balls tossed amongst them.

There’s also plenty of freshly baked treats that atop the counter, perfect for enjoying with a coffee. Including this delicious chocolate and banana bread and butter muffin.

No.68 also stocks a variety of tap beers, bottled beers and wine. The café is particularly proud of their local specialty Parallel Roasters coffee, which is served with a spritzer of soda water to cleanse the palette after drinking.

Need to know – Street parking is available nearby.

Nice to know – No.68 utilise local produce where they can.
