Gastown in Ashgrove is a cosy coffee nook offering expertly brewed coffee along with a range of sweet and savoury treats.
Owned by Brisbane-born Sloane and Canadian ex-pat Marn, the cafe is inspired by Vancouver's historic precinct, Gastown, famous its whistling steam clock and beautiful Victorian buildings which house hip cafes and trendy boutiques.
The cafe is a dimly-lit with globe lights and features forest green walls and glossy green tiles, with small timber tables and bentwood chairs filling the snug space - perfect for sipping lattes or indulging with a glass of wine or cheeky cocktail*.
Coffee on pour is roasted locally by The Black Lab, served along with a rotating selection of single origins from Australian roasters like Melbourne's Seven Seeds and Maker Coffee.
Food wise, there's a tasty array of sweet treats such as flaky croissants and delicious pastries supplied by Farine & Co, as well as savoury snacks like quiche, ham and cheese croissants, and breakfast burgers.
*In the near future, Gastown will transform into a wine bar on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights serving boutique wine, craft beer, and classic cocktails. Follow Gastown on Instagram for updates.
