Ruby's Wine Shop
Albion
Updated: Mar 19, 2026
This funky, hole-in-the-wall wine spot, Ruby's Wine Shop is Albion's best-kept secret.
Set in a small, custom-fitted space along the iconic Sandgate Road, the intimate 20-seat retail space blends European charm with a relaxed social atmosphere.
Inside this minimalistic, Scandinavian-inspired nook, you’ll be greeted by a friendly smile and good music. With one dining table in the centre, it’s the perfect place to stop in for an after-work drink and meet new people in the local community. The layout of the space has been carefully curated to spark conversation and bring people together over a shared love of good wine.
Inspired by Swiss neighbourhood wine shops, Ruby’s focuses on sustainable, minimal-intervention wines sourced from local, national and global winemakers. The shop stocks over 100 drops, with six to eight available by the glass on a daily rotation.
The moment you step through the doors, you’ll be welcomed by a warm smile and the classic question, “Do you prefer red or white?” From there, you’re in good hands. Offering a wide range of wines, they stock an extensive selection of both reds and whites, along with more adventurous pours like orange wines.
Ruby’s Wine Shop invites guests to stop by with friends to sip on your favourite wines, stock up on bottles to take home, and BYO nibbles to complete the experience – bring from home or enjoy from neighbouring eateries such as Olive & Thyme. Best of all, there’s an open invitation to furry friends too.
Ruby’s Wine Shop also has a range of beautifully designed merchandise. Whether you’re shopping for a birthday, or a housewarming, it’s the perfect place to pick up a gift for the wine lover in your life.
It’s also the ideal spot to pop in for a drink before or after a dinner reservation, and the friendly staff are always happy to offer recommendations to help you find the perfect wine for any occasion.
