The Red Queen Cocktail Bar & Gin School

Brisbane CBD

Updated: Dec 04, 2025

The Red Queen is a secret laneway cocktail bar and gin school tucked away in the century old heritage-listed Metro Arts Theatre building in Brisbane CBD.

The ambient handmade-brick walled bar features mermaids and lions at the entry, and a luxe eclectic aesthetic with steampunk lighting, black velvet gothic damask and a striking copper bar.

The exquisite cocktail menu is crafted exclusively from locally-produced artisan spirits and features an impressive array of more than 30 creative cocktails as well as boutique wine and beer.

Within the Red Queen's stunning surrounds is Brisbane’s second Gin School, following on the success of the original site based at the Brisbane Distillery in West End. Guests have the opportunity to experience creating their own bottle of gin with 180 botanicals to choose from.

Good to know - In a world first, Gin School® has built some ground-breaking software that enables guests to take full advantage of the thousands of flavour molecules in 180 botanicals. They get to let their creative side run wild and craft a gin that is truly tailored to one’s individual taste.
