Eden Gardens in Carseldine is a gardening nirvana - a one-stop shop for all your gardening needs with a plethora of plants and pots and much more, plus a gorgeous creekside café offering breakfast, lunch, coffee and cake.
This award-winning garden centre on the corner of Gympie and Beams Roads sits on 1.5 hectares. The sprawling gardens feature an array of outdoor plants including pretty perennials and perfumed roses, native trees and fruit trees, tropical plants and edible plants, prickly cacti and lush succulents.
Green thumbs will find everything required for a gorgeous garden, from premium potting soil and cow manure, compost bins and worm farms, to water features, sculptures and screening. Eden Gardens hosts a number of gardening and creative workshops, from making kokedama and terrariums to taking care of house plants. In addition, there are school holiday activities for kids like potting and planting workshops and worm farming.
Inside the stunning, vaulted-ceiling showroom is even more greenery - indoor plants, terrariums, kokedama and orchids. In addition, there’s furniture for your backyard or balcony, cushions, candles, books and more.
Afterwards, visitors can enjoy a well-brewed cup of Di Manfredi coffee with a slice of freshly made cake in the beautiful Dragonfly Café overlooking a water fountain. This lovely al fresco dining space provides a tranquil setting for coffee and cake, breakfast or lunch, with a seasonal menu featuring fresh veggies and herbs grown in the café’s garden.
Breakfast fare includes bacon and eggs, breakfast bruschetta (avocado, cherry tomatoes, Danish feta and rocket on wholemeal sourdough with balsamic glaze) and corn and zucchini fritters served with house made herb yoghurt and poached egg; while lunch options range from chicken burgers and steak sandwiches to delicious salads – like smokey grilled eggplant with green beans, olives, pomegranate and feta - and pappardelle pasta with lemon chicken, garlic and spinach.
The café is kid-friendly with a children's play area and menu consisting of scrambled eggs and bacon, waffles with maple syrup and vanilla ice-cream, chicken nuggets and chips, fish and chips, and ham and cheese pizza.
Dragonfly is licensed offering sparkling, white and red wine (predominantly from Australia) along with beer and cider.
Nice to know – Not just a great place for a casual drop-in visit, Dragonfly Cafe is the perfect spot for group bookings, celebrations, high teas and functions.
