GRASSFED VEGAN HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED IN SEPTEMBER 2023.

Grassfed Vegan is a cool pocket-sized vegan burger and ice-cream bar tucked away in South Brisbane’s Fish Lane, next door to secret hip hop bar Next Episode (behind the barber shop).

In-house diners can take a seat at one of the small handful of tables in the cosy interior or cushioned crate seating outside the door.

Here you’ll find an impressive range of the best vegan burgers in Brisbane, with delicious ice-cream to follow and insta-worthy shakes that taste just like the real thing. On the burger menu there’s a choice of Classic (vEEF* patty, tomato, lettuce, caramelized onion, cheese, pickle, aioli and mustard), Aussie (vEEF patty, beetroot salad, pineapple, VEgg, red onion, cheese and pickles), Chick’en (chick’en schnitzel, lettuce, sriracha, sauerkraut), Spicy BBQ ‘pork’ (shredded BBQ ‘pork’, jackfruit with bacon and apple slaw), Herbivore (shimashi mushroom, tomato, lettuce, caramelized onion, pickle & GrassFed special sauce).

For those with a huge appetite, there’s the whopping BFC (150g vEEF patty, double cheese, fries. Shimashi mushroom, tomato, lettuce, pickle, caramelized onion and GrassFed special sauce), and for juniors, there’s a JR burger (vEEF patty, cheese and GrassFed special sauce). There’s also a heap of add-ons, including curly fries (in the burger), cheese, fried cauliflower, cheese and so forth.

Ice-cream choices include the Heavenly Vego (deep-fried chunkc of Vego bar with chocolate sauce), Super Dooper (fresh fruit, mixed berries, almond granola and pure maple syrup) or Cookie Wookie (warm chocolate chip cookie dough with salted caramel sauce), or for those who like it simple, there’s plain ice-cream too.

For drinks there’s Kombucha or Kombucha with hemp, soft drinks, water or shakes (chocolate, strawberry or caramel) topped with soy spray cream.

*The vEEZ patties are the work of acclaimed Brisbane chef Alejandro Caninco (ex-Urbane) and the soft serve I Should Coco ice-creams from co-owner and Brisbane Vegan Markets founder John Garrison.

Nice to know – Coming soon in early 2019 will be a small range of vegan beer and ciders too.
