Luckies Kitchen
Bulimba
Updated: Jul 04, 2026
Luckies Kitchen is a buzzy Asian eatery dishing up delicious Cantonese-inspired dishes in a colourful edgy setting just off Oxford St, Bulimba.
Diners can take a seat on the terrace or the interior, which features paper lanterns, neon signs, open kitchen, a banquet corner plastered with vintage Chinese posters and another neonlit nook to one side with bar stool seating.
Luckies Kitchen may have a fast food vibe with waiters in red caps and aprons, paper place mats, enamel dishes and disposable chopsticks, but the food served here is top notch.
Start with a snack like hot and numbing oysters with Sichuan vinaigrette or chicken wings, spicy master stock & fried shallots or one of the small dishes such as Bang Bang noodle salad, black fungus & roast chili; vegetable spring roll with spiced kewpie mayo or steamed pork & prawn wontons, vinaigrette & roast garlic.
Noodle and rice dishes include Luckies special fried rice with spanner crab & tobiko; Beef Ho Fan, smoked soy & sesame seeds or stir fry king prawns, rice roll & cashews; while mains (big dishes) include the highly recommended Katsu eggplant, smoked teriyaki & coriander and Smoked duck breast, house hoi sin, fine herbs & roti.
Must-try is Luckies sweet & sour pork with charred pineapple, a delicious fresh take on an old classic, while other main dishes include black pepper Wagyu, king mushroom & roast bamboo; steamed market fish, pickled mustard greens & shiitake mushroom; or XO pippis and Chinese donut. There's also a choice of 2 set menus - 'hungry' or 'very hungry', both of which are great value.
Drinks-wise, Luckies Kitchen has a concise list of good quality wines, standard and premium spirits, a selection of local craft beerswith a smattering of Chinese beers and a cocktail menu that includes Pandan Colada, Watermelon Margarita, Vietnamese Coffee and Allspice Mule, along with some mocktail options.
Need to know - You'll find Luckies Kitchen on the corner of Oxford St and Riddell St, with the entrance off the latter. There is street parking available nearby.
