Felons Brewing Co

Felons Brewing Co is Brisbane’s best-located microbrewery, a showpiece of the Howard Smith Wharves, perched in prime waterfront position under the Story Bridge.

Occupying a mammoth corrugated iron shed with a wide covered verandah running alongside river, Felons Brewing Co is the ideal spot for a cold beer and a casual bite to eat whilst enjoying stunning views of the city and down the river towards Kangaroo Point and New Farm.

The décor and menu give the nod to Queensland, from the corrugated iron to the cane verandah furniture and food such as Mooloolabah king prawns and Moreton Bay bugs at Felons Brewery, plus the freshest, locally-sourced seafood at Felon's Fish 'n' Chipper.

Pull up a seat in the prime viewing area on the verandah where a bar ledge with stool seating runs the entire length, or at one of the tables with cane chairs.

Otherwise, there’s plenty of seating in the bustling cavernous interior where all of the action takes place, including the brewing in view and along one end. Giant imported Italian pizza ovens are kept fired up, churning out delectable pizzas. Their pizza dough is made with organic Queensland flour and fermented for 36 hours with a splash of Felons Australian Pale Ale, before being topped with the finest, locally-sourced buffalo mozzarella.

Felons are passionate about the finest produce and all their ingredients are from local and sustainable sources.

Starters, or for those who just want a drink and a small bite, include hot buffalo wings with celery and blue cheese dressing, Pacific oysters, and Mooloolabah king prawn cocktail. 

There’s also a selection of substantial dishes including grilled line-caught Coral Trout, a selection of premium and Wagyu steaks from the coals, and nourishing healthy 'Bowls' such as falafel or grilled chicken. A small choice of burgers on offer include the Felons cheeseburger, spicy chicken or crumbed snapper, and for something sweet, there are desserts such as lemon curd parfait or Nutella calzone pizza.

The full range of fresh Felons' core beers (including their cider, ginger beer and seltzers) are available on tap in four sizes, along with an ever-changing line-up of limited release brews. Non-beer drinkers are well-catered for with a range of interesting wines, cocktails, spirits, and non-alcoholic drinks.

Nice to know – You can park up top in New Farm and take the glass lift from Wilsons Outlook down to the wharves, otherwise take a CityCat ferry directly to the Howard Smith Wharves terminal.
