Tubular Bells For Two

Brisbane Powerhouse

Tubular Bells For Two takes the iconic 1970s celtic folk-rock opus Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield that mesmerized listeners everywhere and condenses it into a work by 2 barefoot guys.

So regardless of whether you’ve ever fallen under the Tubular Bells spell or whether looking to have your mind blown musically for an evening this is a show not to be missed.

Tubular Bells For Two

What is all the more amazing  about Tubular Bells for Two is that the original Mike Oldfield one-hour score required an ensemble of 25 musicians. At the time it not only launched Sir Richard Branson's Virgin music empire and featured in the cult film The Exorcist but it was in the British charts for 279 weeks.

This show, which started life as a jam session in London between a couple of Oldfield fans, is the work of singer-songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist Aidan Roberts and guitarist/singer/songwriter Daniel Holdsworth whose credits include composition for theatre, TV and dance and touring with a variety of Oz bands. Since 2014 it has toured Australia, Europe and blown the minds of audiences at the Perth Fringe, before coming back to Brisbane this May.

The pair have been given the blessing via Skype from virtuoso Mike Oldfield himself and for just two nights will again recall the unforgettable sound of his tubular bells via these 2 man shows on the Brisbane Powerhouse stage.
