Thank Albert It's Friday

Thank Albert It’s Friday is a fantastic free CBD lunchtime event which sees a section of Albert St in Brisbane CBC closed to traffic carpeted with astroturf and transformed into a picnic green.

Balloons mark the entry at each end of the space, which is strewn with picnic rugs and deck chairs as well as a life size chequer set and tables set with board games.

The general public are invited to drop by and either BYO food or grab a bite to eat from one of the cafes and eateries fronting the Albert St precinct and enjoy it al fresco.

There’s also live music to accompany and plenty of table games – chess, packs of cards and so forth – and an Ideas table where punters can give input as to what they’d like to see added to the event.
