Q ANZAC 100: Memories for a New Generation is SLQ’s collaborative project to commemorate 100 years since World War I and preserve its memories for future generations.

Q ANZAC 100: Memories for a New Generation

Ongoing over 5 years, the project is a State government initiative reaching state wide to dig up new stories and treasures and thereby generating conversation and insights into the enduring ANZAC spirit.

At the State Library the Q ANZAC 100 experience includes special hands-on White Glove experiences with World War I treasures, an interactive timeline of digitised and new media content, online educational resources and attend events and performances about Queensland’s World War I experiences.

Q ANZAC 100: Memories for a New Generation

During the month of April visitors can have open access to the extraordinary First World War database, exposing the propaganda and the personal experience via: a visual gallery of artwork, maps, posters, postcards, objects and artworks; documents including propaganda leaflets, trench journals, diaries, personal narratives, aerial leaflets, government and military files; as well as a great war glossary and maps of battle lines and campaigns.

Q ANZAC 100: Memories for a New Generation

Visitors can also engage online with the fascinating World War I Centenary Blog where they can read and/or share World War I and ANZAC stories such as the khaki concerts, young Red Cross, home-front history, women at war, poignant soldier’s poems and letters, a doctor’s perspective and the faces of World War I.

Otherwise for queries about the World War I collection or to talk about World War I memorabilia in their own possession, visitors can go to the Ask Us section.
