Love, Má Vietnamese Restaurant

Coorparoo

Love  Vietnamese Restaurant closed permanently in 2020.

Love, Má is a cute, contemporary Vietnamese eatery in Coorparoo serving classic Vietnamese comfort food, from pho noodle soups and banh mi baguettes to sizzling hot skillets.

This family owned and operated restaurant, a sibling for Sing's Asian Kitchen, is named after the family's matriarch. Má, which means mum in Vietnamese, was born and raised in Ho Chi Minh so you can rest assured that Má knows what authentic Vietnamese fare tastes like.

Love Má Vietnamese Restaurant, Coorparoo

The menu boasts tasty, traditional Viet street food like Vietnamese baguettes filled with crackling pork, mesclun, cucumber, coriander, pickled radish and carrot, and big bowls of rice noodle soup - beef pho, spicy beef (bun bo hue) and a Southern Vietnamese-style soup topped with king prawns, pork meatballs and calamari.

Delish salads range from classic Vietnamese vermicelli noodle salads topped with fresh greens, bean sprouts, coriander, mint, and roasted peanuts (with your choice of lemongrass chicken, pork or spring rolls) to papaya salads and Saigon salad served with a side of sticky rice balls and grilled meat combo.

A stand-out on the lunch menu is melt-in-your-mouth Vietnamese beef stew, slow-cooked in a flavour-filled broth of ginger, lemongrass, curry leaf, basil and star anise, served with fried egg and slices of baguette (bo kho on skillet).

Light eats or snacks range from rice paper rolls and spring rolls, pan-fried gyoza and satay skewers, to chicken cheese balls and Má's marinated pork wrapped in pandan leaf and char-grilled (heo la dua ).

Dinner dishes, ideal for sharing (or not), include sticky ginger-glazed chicken, orange roasted duck, kaffir lime marinated barramundi, tamarind soft shell crab, curry leaf prawns and Má's rosemary infused meaty ribs.

Drink-wise, there's espresso, Vietnamese iced coffee, tea, cold-pressed juices and soft drinks. The restaurant is also licensed with a concise wine list and beer on offer.

Nice to know - Take-away is available.
