IPOH LAKSA HAS CLOSED AND IS REPLACED BY VIETNAMESE AN CAFE
On a hot day, set foot into the green air-con interior of Ipoh Laksa, with its potted plants, simple wooden furniture, laminated menus and bustling Chinese-Malay hosts and be transported to South East Asia.
While the food isn't world-beating, it's simple good traditional stuff that reflects Ipoh's regional Chinese-influenced cuisine. Come here for the namesake steaming bowls of laksa, roti canai , Nasi Lamek or the Ipoh Hor Fun (rice noodles with prawns, pork, chicken, cuttle fish and vegetables with velvet egg sauce).
Otherwise there's Mee Goreng, Bee Hoon Goreng, stir-fried noodles, and a sizable Malay variety of seafood and chicken dishes, as well as a handful of Anglo-Chinese meals for the so-inclined.
Prices for most meals except seafood come in at under $15, making dining here great value and as a bonus there's dedicated car parking out back.
