THIS EVENT IS NOW IN THE PAST. FOR MORE GREAT THINGS TO DO AND SEE IN AND AROUND BRISBANE, PLEASE HEAD TO OUR WHAT'S ON PAGE HERE

Newstead’s City Winery is putting a fresh spin on the Sunday sesh, with everyone’s favourite summer tipple, Frose Rose, on repeat.

Kicking off from 2.30pm every Sunday, punters can relax over a cocktail or two and chill to the cool sounds of the resident saxophonist & DJ extraordinaire who definitely knows how to get the afternoon vibe flowing.

If you’re feeling peckish, the freshly-schucked Oyster Bar and Ceviche Station are sure to hit the spot.

The usual Gerler wines (by the glass and by the bottle) are also on pour, and pair perfectly with any of the dishes and charcuterie on the grazing menu, if you’re looking for something different.

Of special mention is the superb selection of cheeses on offer that you can build into your own taste sensation, based on your wine of choice and palette on the day. Prices are based on the number of cheeses you pick, and your selection is served with assorted scrummy accompaniments.

Inside, tables or stools around the wooden barrels are both perfect options to take in the ambience of the afternoon.

Or, you can enjoy watching the passing parade of people, perched on the outside barrels, until late into the evening.

Wanting to make it a bigger occasion, bookings can be made for lunch. And keep in mind City Winery has a groovy private dining room which is perfect if you’re looking for an intimate dining venue for your group. Check with the venue for information on this.

Need to know – Best to book your spot, so head to the link below and nab a table as Frose Rose books out fast.
